Bharath Heavy Electricals Limited

We the students ofMRECW EEE 3rd years had an opportunity to visit and gain knowledge from BHEL Hyderabad on 16th of Oct 2011. BHEL is one of the NAVARATNAS in India and is one of the main bases in producing the heavy electrical machinery in India. BHEL Hyderabad was established in the year 1965 by the then honorable chief minister SRI LAL BAHADUR SHASTRY.

BHEL manufactures many of the products like boilers, air pre-heaters, steam generators, steam turbine, valves, induction motors and alternators, turbo generators, switch gears insulators, HVDC transmission systems.

W e had the permission to visit only manufacturing blocks of electrical machinery and turbines block. Firstly we were into turbines block where we saw manufacturing and testing of turbines. BHEL holds up projects in turbines of capacity 1MW. In 2002 an engineer Ramana has designed a new turbine which was based on single cylinder and the capacity of it was 120 to 140 MW. All the parts of steam turbines such as casings, low pressure rotors and high pressure rotors were clearly presented. The arrangement of blades in different machinery attracted our vision very much and uploaded enthusiasm in us.

The electrical machinery block had generators, alternators,,, the generators which holds a capacity of 2000MW was present. All the winding materials bending and melting of them were also clearly shown. The tools on which they were working enhanced our knowledge as their practical manufacturing unit gives us a clear view of production of all the equipment.

INFOSYS

We the students of MRECW EEE had an opportunity to visit and gain knowledge from INFOSYS Hyderabad on 20th of sept 2011.

Training program at INFOSYS:

• During the training program they explained clearly about the companys profile. They also explained what are the criteria that is required by each and every candidate to get in to Infosys. They explained about their major product which is a pinnacle software. pinnacle software is used in ATM machines to maintain the data of the customer for various banks. Many banks like ICICI, and the other banks are using pinnacle software except SBH.

• Now Infosys is launching spark ,an extraordinary program that aims to raise the aspiration levels of nation-wide program will focus on the advances information technology has made , and how students cal learn from it all.

• Spark Is one day program that is design to expose the student to the best in class learning techniques, through this on campus event, students from different age groups segment school to degree and engineering colleges from urban and suburban areas can assess and check and calibrate their aspirations meter.

• We are sure we can raise the aspirations of the students to a new high by doing the following. 
  1. Exposing them to IT 
  2. Helping them understand the relevance of IT in business\ 
  3. Helping the sow the seeds to a dream career

• This program will bring students and faculty members from an institute on an exclusive best of them the Infosys and Infosys experience. We will demonstrate that it is possible to achieve. We will help the students identify their hidden talents and awaken their potential and excel.
