Dr. M. Shilpa is a distinguished academician and proficient administrator with over 12 years of teaching experience in the field of Chemistry. She completed her B.Sc and M.Sc. from Osmania University and later earned her Ph.D. from the same institution. Her doctoral research focused on the Synthesis, DNA-Binding, and Photocleavage Studies of Cobalt (III) and Ruthenium (II) mixed polypyridyl complexes.
Dr. M. Shilpa’s primary research interests lie in the synthesis of metal complexes, particularly those with Schiff-based ligands. She has made significant contributions to this area, with 14 publications in renowned international journals indexed by Scopus, along with numerous conference presentations. In recognition of her outstanding research, Dr. M.Shilpa was honored with the Best Research Paper Award at the Frontiers in Chemical Sciences conference held at IIT Guwahati in 2010.
As an active participant in international conferences and seminars, Dr. M. Shilpa has contributed to various academic discussions in her field. She has also supervised more than 20 postgraduate students, guiding them in their academic and research pursuits. Furthermore, Dr. M.Shilpa has been an integral member of various committees within the college, playing a key role in curriculum development.
Beyond research, Dr. M.Shilpa has organized faculty development programs and seminars, contributing to the growth of her peers and the academic community.
